Modern WPC Door

Modern WPC door refers to interior doors. Do not confuse them with outdoor solid wood or steel doors.The main material is Wood-Plastic Composite (WPC). It is usually made of more than 50% plant fibers (such as wood powder, rice husk or straw) and thermoplastics (such as PE, PP or PVC), formed by high-temperature molding or extrusion. The surface is often covered with PVC film or wood grain finish. The inner structure may be filled with honeycomb paper, PU foam or light wood strips to reduce weight and improve sound/heat insulation. The surface has a 0.14–0.22 mm thick PVC film or melamine finish (wood grain look, waterproof and wear-resistant). The core filler is honeycomb paper, PU foam board or small wood strips (not solid, balancing light weight and structural stability). It does not contain natural solid wood or a lot of adhesive. Formal products release no formaldehyde and meet environmental standards.

"Modern WPC door" is a common market name. Some products are labeled as "PVC/WPC composite door", but WPC itself is not equal to pure PVC or pure wood. It is essentially a wood fiber reinforced plastic matrix composite material. It has the feel of wood and the moisture-proof, insect-proof and durable properties of plastic. It is suitable for bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, hotels and apartments. Unless specially designed (which is rare), it is not suitable for outdoor use. There are also outdoor doors made of WPC on the market, but they are not common. If you need them, please check their weather resistance specifications.

When choosing a modern WPC door, check the thickness: the door slab should be ≥35mm, the door frame ≥30mm. The thicker, the more stable. Check the density: lift it up. The heavier it is, the higher the density, and the more durable it will be. For the surface finish, choose heat transfer printing (sun-resistant and hard to fade). Avoid low-quality lamination.

• Good heat insulation and soundproofing: The dense closed cells and hollow structure keep heat in and reduce noise by about 25–30dB, making bedrooms and studies quieter.
• Fast and easy installation: With a quick-clip design, no nails or glue are needed. One person can install one door frame in just 1 hour.
• Many styles, easy to clean: It uses heat transfer printing or lamination to make realistic wood grain. There are many colors to choose from. The surface is smooth, and dirt can be wiped off easily.
