PVC Main Home Door

PVC main home doors are made of unplasticized PVC-U profiles. PVC is a kind of thermoplastic resin. It is made by polymerizing vinyl chloride. It is usually white or light yellow powder. People add different additives when making PVC doors. This can change its physical features.

Compared with common plastic, PVC doors have better heat resistance. They are hard to burn, and can stop damage from acid and alkali. They are flexible and wear-resistant. Tubular Particle Board (also called Hollow Particle Board / Bridge Core Board), It is a common door core material for PVC main home doors. It is a kind of particle board with hollow tube holes inside. It gets its name because the holes look like bridge tunnels. The green one in the picture is usually moisture-proof. It is often used for doors in wet places or where moisture resistance is needed.

A. Main Advantages as a Door Core

1. Sound Insulation: The hollow tube structure stops sound from passing through. Doors made with it have better soundproof effect. It is often used for quiet doors.

2. Light Weight & No Deformation: It is much lighter than solid boards. It makes the door lighter and reduces the load on hinges. The door will not easily sag or deform over time.

3. Moisture Resistance: Especially the green moisture-proof type. It will not swell or deform easily when wet. Good for doors in wet rooms like bathrooms and kitchens.

4. Strong Stability: The hollow structure spreads stress evenly. The door stays more stable than solid boards when temperature or humidity changes.

5. Cost-effective: It costs much less than solid wood cores. But its performance is close to wood. It is the main door core material for project doors and PVC paint-free doors.

B. Main Uses

It is almost the standard door core for paint-free doors, PVC doors and indoor wood doors now. It can also be used for partitions or wall panels where sound insulation and light weight are needed.

Vacuum formed doors are also called blister doors or mould doors. It uses MDF as the main base material. We choose E0 / E1 grade medium density fiberboard. Board thickness: 16/18/25mm, density: 650–800kg/m³. The board surface is flat, easy to cut and shape, and not easy to bend. Use electric cutting machine to cut boards to exact size. Size error less than ±0. 5mm. Grind four sides to remove sharp edges. Use CNC machine to make shapes, lines, patterns and glass grooves as design. After shaping, polish with 180# sandpaper. Remove tool marks and broken edges to make curved surface smooth. Fill holes and gaps with wood putty. Grind flat after dry. Polish with 240# to 400# sandpaper by hand or machine. Make surface smooth with no flaws. Clean all dust to avoid air bubbles. Use special water-based vacuum glue. It is eco-friendly, no formaldehyde and strong adhesion. Do not use common glue. Spray glue twice evenly on front and sides. Glue thickness: 0. 15–0. 2mm. Leave for 15–30 minutes until no sticky to touch. If glue too wet or too dry, it will cause bubbles or weak stick. High-grade doors use pre-coated PVC film. No need to spray glue, fast and efficient for lamination.
